2025-02-14spi: soft_spi: Add support for SPI_3WIREHironori KIKUCHI
When 3-wire mode is claimed on the bus, use the MOSI (output) pin to receive data. In this mode, since the transfer can only be either TX or RX, return -EINVAL if both are required at the same time. Signed-off-by: Hironori KIKUCHI <kikuchan98@gmail.com>
2024-08-15spi: soft_spi: Parse cs-gpios only if num-chipselects is not <0>Michael Polyntsov
Some boards don't have chipselect lines for leds so cs-gpios is not specified in the dts leading to probing error. Fix it by making behavior similar to the one in Linux, parse num-chipselects and if it is zero, ignore cs-gpios. 2024-05-19Revert "Merge patch series "arm: dts: am62-beagleplay: Fix Beagleplay Ethernet""Tom Rini
When bringing in the series 'arm: dts: am62-beagleplay: Fix Beagleplay Ethernet"' I failed to notice that b4 noticed it was based on next and so took that as the base commit and merged that part of next to master. This reverts commit c8ffd1356d42223cbb8c86280a083cc3c93e6426, reversing changes made to 2ee6f3a5f7550de3599faef9704e166e5dcace35. 2023-07-13spi: soft_spi: Support the recommended soft spi propertiesFabio Estevam
According to Documentation/devicetree/bindings/spi/spi-gpio.yaml from Linux, the recommended spio-gpio properties are: sck-gpios, miso-gpios and mosi-gpios. gpio-sck, gpio-mosi and gpio-miso are considered deprecated. Currently, U-Boot only supports the deprecated properties. Allow the soft_spi driver to support both the new and old properties. 2021-02-02common: Drop asm/global_data.h from common headerSimon Glass
Move this out of the common header and include it only where needed. In a number of cases this requires adding "struct udevice;" to avoid adding another large header or in other cases replacing / adding missing header files that had been pulled in, very indirectly. Finally, we have a few cases where we did not need to include <asm/global_data.h> at all, so remove that include. 2020-12-13dm: treewide: Rename ofdata_to_platdata() to of_to_plat()Simon Glass

2020-12-13dm: treewide: Rename 'platdata' variables to just 'plat'Simon Glass
We use 'priv' for private data but often use 'platdata' for platform data. We can't really use 'pdata' since that is ambiguous (it could mean private or platform data). Rename some of the latter variables to end with 'plat' for consistency. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2020-12-13dm: treewide: Rename auto_alloc_size members to be shorterSimon Glass
This construct is quite long-winded. In earlier days it made some sense since auto-allocation was a strange concept. But with driver model now used pretty universally, we can shorten this to 'auto'. This reduces verbosity and makes it easier to read. Coincidentally it also ensures that every declaration is on one line, thus making dtoc's job easier. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2020-07-09spi: add support for all spi modes with soft spiJohannes Holland
The spi bitbanging driver did not implement all spi modes properly. Add code to support all spi modes, honoring soft_spi_set_mode() and defaulting to spi mode 0. Previously, CPHA was implemented inversely (defaulting to CPHA=1) and CPOL=1 was hardcoded. 2019-09-16spi: soft_spi: Fix data abort if slave is not probedChristophe Kerello
In case spi_get_bus_and_cs callback is used, spi bus is first probed then slave devices are probed. To avoid a data abort in soft_spi probe function, we need to check that (slave != NULL). If slave is NULL, cs_flags and clk_flags will be initialized with respectively GPIOD_ACTIVE_LOW and 0. 2018-05-07SPDX: Convert all of our single license tags to Linux Kernel styleTom Rini
When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line) and with slightly different comment styles than us. In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style. This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag contents. There's also a few places where I found we did not have a tag and have introduced one. Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>
2017-02-08dm: core: Replace of_offset with accessorSimon Glass

In preparation for supporting a live device tree, which uses a node pointer instead, refactor existing code to access this field through an inline function. 2015-01-29dm: spi: Move slave details to child platdataSimon Glass
At present we go through various contortions to store the SPI slave's chip select in its private data. This only exists when the slave is active so must be set up when it is probed. Until the device is probed we don't actually know what chip select it will appear on. However, now that we can support per-child platform data, we can use that instead. This allows us to set up the chip select when the child is bound, and avoid the messy contortions. Unfortunately this is a fairly large change and it seems to be difficult to break it down further. 2014-06-08spi: soft_spi: Support NULL din/dout buffersAndrew Ruder
This mirrors the conventions used in other SPI drivers (kirkwood, davinci, atmel, et al) where the din/dout buffer can be NULL when the received/transmitted data isn't important. This reduces the need for allocating additional buffers when write-only/read-only functionality is needed. In the din == NULL case, the received data is simply not stored. In the dout == NULL case, zeroes are transmitted.
