2025-10-30thermal: imx_tmu: Always set thermal trips from fusesPrimoz Fiser
NXP i.MX SoCs are available in different temperature grades. By default, device-tree contains only thermal trips for consumer grade parts. On the other hand, part temp grade fuse can be used to determine thermal trip points. We already do this in imx_tmu_bind() function. Now, factor out this functionality to a standalone function imx_tmu_set_trips() and use it for both cases. This fixes an issue where 'cpu-thermal' child device would set different thermal trips than the parent 'tmu@44482000' sensor, depending on which gets used. 2025-10-08thermal: Convert .get_temp() return value to millicelsiusMarek Vasut
Linux kernel .get_temp() callback reports values in millicelsius, U-Boot currently reports them in celsius. Align the two and report in millicelsius. Update drivers accordingly. Update callsites that use thermal_get_temp() as well. The 'temperature' command now reports temperature in millicelsius as well, with additional accuracy. This changes command line ABI slightly. Add support for R-Car Gen3/Gen4 and RZ/G2 thermal sensors. Fuse readout support is present, including fallback trimming. Example usage using the 'temperature' command on R-Car V4H Sparrow Hawk: " => temperature list | Device | Driver | Parent | thermal-rcar-gen3-tsc.0 | thermal-rcar-gen3-tsc | thermal@e6198000 | thermal-rcar-gen3-tsc.1 | thermal-rcar-gen3-tsc | thermal@e6198000 | thermal-rcar-gen3-tsc.2 | thermal-rcar-gen3-tsc | thermal@e6198000 | thermal-rcar-gen3-tsc.3 | thermal-rcar-gen3-tsc | thermal@e6198000 => for i in 0 1 2 3 ; do temperature get thermal-rcar-gen3-tsc.$i ; done thermal-rcar-gen3-tsc.0: 56 C thermal-rcar-gen3-tsc.1: 50 C thermal-rcar-gen3-tsc.2: 48 C thermal-rcar-gen3-tsc.3: 52 C " Ported from Linux 6.16-rc6 commit 9e1dc0360fcf ("thermal/drivers/rcar_gen3: Add support for R-Car V4H default trim values") Signed-off-by: Marek Vasut <marek.vasut+renesas@mailbox.org>
2025-10-08thermal: Make U_BOOT_DRIVER entries uniqueTom Rini

But there are still some other pending. That's why please go and fix them if they are related to your board. UTF-8: I am using uni2ascii -B < file to do conversion. When you run it in a loop you will find some other issue with copyright chars or some issues in files taken from the Linux kernel like DTs. They should be likely fixed in the kernel first. 2024-03-17drivers: imx_tmu: Select polling-rate from cpu-thermal devicetree nodeBenjamin Hahn
The polling rate is already specified in some devicetrees, like imx8mp.dtsi for example, but was not selected so far. For the trippoints, the cpu-thermal node is used. Also get the polling rate from this node. Use the default of 5000ms if the polling rate should not be specified in the devicetree. NOTE: The polling rate from the devicetree will be used after this patch. In imx8*.dtsi devicetrees the polling delay is set to 2000ms for example. 2023-09-04thermal: imx_tmu: Increase the polling intervalFabio Estevam
Polling every second to check whether the CPU has cooled down is too frequent. Allow more time for the CPU to cool down by increasing the polling interval to 5 seconds by defaut. This value is used in the absence of the 'polling-delay' devicetree property. Signed-off-by: Fabio Estevam <festevam@denx.de>

2023-09-04thermal: imx_tmu: Fix the polling defaultFabio Estevam
When the 'polling-delay' property is not passed via devicetree, pdata->polling_delay keeps at 0. This causes the imx_tmu driver to get stuck inside the busy while() loop when the CPU temperature is above the alert point. Fix this problem by passing a one second polling interval, which provides a proper delay to let the system to cool down and exit the while() loop when the temperature is below the alert point. 2020-12-13dm: treewide: Rename auto_alloc_size members to be shorterSimon Glass
This construct is quite long-winded. In earlier days it made some sense since auto-allocation was a strange concept. But with driver model now used pretty universally, we can shorten this to 'auto'. This reduces verbosity and makes it easier to read. Coincidentally it also ensures that every declaration is on one line, thus making dtoc's job easier. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>

2018-05-07SPDX: Convert all of our single license tags to Linux Kernel styleTom Rini
When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line) and with slightly different comment styles than us. In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style. This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag contents. There's also a few places where I found we did not have a tag and have introduced one. Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>
