2024-09-03lmb: do away with arch_lmb_reserve()Sughosh Ganu
All of the current definitions of arch_lmb_reserve() are doing the same thing -- reserve the region of memory occupied by U-Boot, starting from the current stack address to the ram_top. Introduce a function lmb_reserve_uboot_region() which does this, and do away with the arch_lmb_reserve() function. Instead of using the current value of stack pointer for starting the reserved region, have a fixed value, considering the stack size config value. 2024-09-03lmb: make LMB memory map persistent and globalSughosh Ganu
The current LMB API's for allocating and reserving memory use a per-caller based memory view. Memory allocated by a caller can then be overwritten by another caller. Make these allocations and reservations persistent using the alloced list data structure. Two alloced lists are declared -- one for the available(free) memory, and one for the used memory. Once full, the list can then be extended at runtime. 2024-04-10Merge patch series "pxe: Allow extlinux booting without CMDLINE enabled"Tom Rini
Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org> says: This series is the culmanation of the current line of refactoring series. It adjusts pxe to call the booting functionality directly rather than going through the command-line interface. With this is is possible to boot using the extlinux bootmeth without the command line enabled. It also updates fastboot to do a similar thing.

2021-02-02common: Drop asm/global_data.h from common headerSimon Glass
Move this out of the common header and include it only where needed. In a number of cases this requires adding "struct udevice;" to avoid adding another large header or in other cases replacing / adding missing header files that had been pulled in, very indirectly. 2019-10-08microblaze: Switch to generic bootm implementationMichal Simek

2018-05-07SPDX: Convert all of our single license tags to Linux Kernel styleTom Rini
When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line) and with slightly different comment styles than us. In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style. This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag contents. There's also a few places where I found we did not have a tag and have introduced one. Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>

2018-02-18fdt: Implement weak arch_fixup_fdt()Alexey Brodkin
Only ARM and in some configs MIPS really implement arch_fixup_fdt(). Others just use the same boilerplate which is not good by itself, but what's worse if we try to build with disabled CONFIG_CMD_BOOTM and enabled CONFIG_OF_LIBFDT we'll hit an unknown symbol which was apparently implemented in arch/xxx/lib/bootm.c. Now with weak arch_fixup_fdt() right in image-fdt.c where it is used we get both items highlighted above fixed. 2016-12-02libfdt: replace ARCH_FIXUP_FDT with ARCH_FIXUP_FDT_MEMORYMasahiro Yamada
Commit e2f88dfd2d96 ("libfdt: Introduce new ARCH_FIXUP_FDT option") allows us to skip memory setup of DTB, but a problem for ARM is that spin_table_update_dt() and psci_update_dt() are skipped as well if CONFIG_ARCH_FIXUP_FDT is disabled. This commit allows us to skip only fdt_fixup_memory_banks() instead of the whole of arch_fixup_fdt(). 2016-03-14Kconfig: Move CONFIG_FIT and related options to KconfigSimon Glass
There are already two FIT options in Kconfig but the CONFIG options are still in the header files. We need to do a proper move to fix this. Move these options to Kconfig and tidy up board configuration: CONFIG_FIT CONFIG_OF_BOARD_SETUP CONFIG_OF_SYSTEM_SETUP CONFIG_FIT_SIGNATURE CONFIG_FIT_BEST_MATCH CONFIG_FIT_VERBOSE CONFIG_OF_STDOUT_VIA_ALIAS CONFIG_RSA Unfortunately the first one is a little complicated. We need to make sure this option is not enabled in SPL by this change. Also this option is enabled automatically in the host builds by defining CONFIG_FIT in the image.h file. To solve this, add a new IMAGE_USE_FIT #define which can be used in files that are built on the host but must also build for U-Boot and SPL. Note: Masahiro's moveconfig.py script is amazing.
