At this point, the remaining places where we have a symbol that is defined as CONFIG_... are in fairly odd locations. While as much dead code has been removed as possible, some of these locations are simply less obvious at first. In other cases, this code is used, but was defined in such a way as to have been missed by earlier checks. Perform a rename of all such remaining symbols to be CFG_... rather than CONFIG_... The way all of the memory init code here works is that we pass 0xDEADBEEF around for the initial value (as it's a well known 'poison' value and so easily recognized in debuggers, etc). 2022-09-06ddr: fsl: Make bank_addr_bits reflect actual bitsSean Anderson
In both the Freescale DDR controller and the SPD spec, bank address bits are stored as the number of bank address bits minus 2. For example, if a chip had 8 banks (3 total bank address bits), the value of bank_addr_bits would be 1. This is rather surprising for users configuring their memory manually, since they can't set bank_addr_bits to the actual number of bank address bits. Rectify this. There is at least one example of this kind of mistake already, in board/freescale/t102xrdb/ddr.c. The documented MT40A512M8HX has two bank address bits, but bank_addr_bits was set to 2, implying 4 bank address bits. Such a value is reserved in BA_BITS_CS, but I suspect the controller simply ignores the top bit, making this kind of mistake harmless, if misleading. 2018-05-07SPDX: Convert all of our single license tags to Linux Kernel styleTom Rini
When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line) and with slightly different comment styles than us. In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style. This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag contents. 2015-04-20MPC8541/MPC8555: Enable SS_EN in DDR_SDRAM_CLK_CNLT registerCurt Brune
According to the MPC8555/MPC8541 reference manual the SS_EN (source synchronous enable) bit in the DDR_SDRAM_CLK_CNLT register must be set during initialization. >From section 9.4.1.8 of that manual: Source synchronous enable. This bit field must be set during initialization. See Section 9.6.1, "DDR SDRAM Initialization Sequence," details. 0 - Reserved 1 - The address and command are sent to the DDR SDRAMs source synchronously. In addition, Freescale application note AN2805 is also very clear that this bit must be set. This patch reverts a change introduced by commit 457caecdbca3df21a93abff19eab12dbc61b7897. Testing Done: Compiled targets CONFIG_TARGET_MPC8555CDS and CONFIG_TARGET_MPC8541CDS and inspected the generated assembly code to verify the SS_EN bit was being set. There is one extra instruction emitted: fff9b774: 65 29 80 00 oris r9,r9,32768 Compiled the CONFIG_TARGET_MPC8548CDS target and verified that no additional instructions were emitted related to this patch. U-Boot has never cared about the type when we get max/min of two values, but Linux Kernel does. This commit gets min, max, min3, max3 macros synced with the kernel introducing type checks. Many of references of those macros must be fixed to suppress warnings. JEDEC spec allows DRAM vendors to use prime DQ for write leveling. This is not an issue unless some DQ pins are not connected. If a platform uses regular DIMMs but with reduced DDR ECC pins, the prime DQ may end up on those floating pins for the second rank. The workaround is to use a known good chip select for this purpose.
