9 daysglobal: Make ARCH_MISC_INIT a selected symbolTom Rini
This symbol is not something that the user should be enabling or disabling but rather the developer for a particular board should select it when required. This is mostly size neutral, however a few places do have changes. In the case of i.MX6ULL systems, it is always the case that arch_misc_init() could call setup_serial_number() and do useful work, but was not enabled widely, but now is. In the case of i.MX23/28 systems, we should be able to call mx28_fixup_vt() again here, so do so. Finally, some platforms were calling arch_misc_init() and then not doing anything and this results in removing the option. 2024-08-06am33xx: Use regular spl_board_init instead of am33xx_spl_board_initPaul Kocialkowski
The am33xx_spl_board_init function was introduced as a way to add board-specific SPL init for AM33xx devices since the spl_board_init function was already used for SoC-specific init. Now that the SoC-specific SPL init was moved to spl_soc_init, we can use spl_board_init for this purpose and get rid of am33xx_spl_board_init. 2024-01-22mtd: Make CONFIG_MTD be the gate symbol for the menuTom Rini
The help for CONFIG_MTD explains that it needs to be enabled for various things like NAND, etc to be available. It however then doesn't enforce this dependency and so if you have none of these systems present you still need to disable a number of options. Fix this by making places that select/imply one type of flash, but did not do the same, also do this for "MTD". Make boards which hadn't been enabling MTD already but need it now, do so. Draco is a family of 3 boards: thuban, rastaban & etamin. Rename all targets of the family adding the draco- prefix to increase readibility and simplify future commits about concerning all boards of the family. The name draco was initially used for the first target. It's deprecated since a 2nd target was introduced. Unfortunately the draco target was copied to the thuban target instead to be renamed. Not a single other call site of this function checks its return value, therefore follow suit in the am33xx code. The original function was only called once, before relocation. The new one is called again after relocation. This was not the intent of the original call. Fix this by renaming and updating the calling logic. With this, chromebook_link64 makes it through SPL. 2022-10-17dm: treewide: Use uclass_first_device_err when accessing one deviceMichal Suchanek
There is a number of users that use uclass_first_device to access the first and (assumed) only device in uclass. Some check the return value of uclass_first_device and also that a device was returned which is exactly what uclass_first_device_err does. Some are not checking that a device was returned and can potentially crash if no device exists in the uclass. Finally there is one that returns NULL on error either way. Convert all of these to use uclass_first_device_err instead, the return value will be removed from uclass_first_device in a later patch. 2021-07-18usb: Enforce DM_USB migration for USB_HOST devices.Tom Rini
As the deadline for migration to DM_USB, when using a USB host controller has now gone two years past the deadline, enforce migration. This is done by: - Ensuring that all host controller options (other than the very legacy old MUSB ones) now select USB_HOST. USB_HOST now enforces DM_USB and OF_CONTROL. - Remove other parts of Kconfig logic that had platforms pick DM_USB. - To keep Kconfig happy, have some select statements test for USB_HOST as well. - Re-order some Kconfig entries and menus so that we can cleanly pick host or gadget roles. For the various HCD options that have platform glue options, group them together and update dependencies in some cases. - As SPL_DM_USB is not required, on platforms that had not yet enabled it, disable it.
